There are literally thousands and thousands of different cannabis strains on the market. While all this variety means plenty of choice for consumers, it can also make it increasingly difficult to find that one perfect strain you’re looking for.
This certainly applies to people who are not very familiar with marijuana terminology that can be very colorful with terms such as calyx to leaf ratio, SCRoG, Fimming and curing of buds.
Rest assured, if you have mastered the basic principles then you will soon be able to find your way between all those sativas and indicas.

CLASSICS
The CLASSICS are the strains of world renown that have proven themselves for decades by being at the top year after year. Some examples of strains that belong in this category are White Widow, Amnesia Haze, Super Skunk, Jack Herer, Northern Lights and Cinderella 99.
NEW GENERATION
But these classics are of course not classics if on the other hand not a NEW GENERATION comes up that is eager to surpass them in greatness. Some good examples of strains in this category are: Gorilla Glue.

Finally, there is the AUTOFLOWERING category. After the introduction of Lowryder 2, autoflowering strains have become very popular due to their specific characteristics. A very interesting collection of autoflowering strains has been created by breeders worldwide.

As said before, there are thousands of different cannabis strains on the market. This makes it practically impossible to select any 100% correct and up to date list with 'The Best Strains'.
Firstly, we obviously have not seen, smoked and grown all these strains ourselves. Unfortunately we are not that lucky. In addition, you can of course ask yourself the question; what is good and what is better? In most cases it simply comes down to personal taste and preference.
So you should certainly not interpret these Top 10 Lists as a 'we know all', but see them as a good help for your search for a particular strain with a certain characteristic. Recommendations are always welcome!

Breeders
Mother Nature gave us the landraces of cannabis sativa and indica that we know under names like Afghani, Hindu Kush, Thai, Colombian and Malawi. Over the years, all breeders around the world have crossed and experimented so much with these and other landraces that an extremely large selection has been created of different strains with a colorful combination of smell, taste and effects.
At the moment there are more than 100 breeders and seed banks in our database with a description and all their strains. Naturally, the famous companies are there, such as Barney's Farm, Royal Queen Seeds, Dutch Passion, Dinafem, Green House Seeds, Subcool's The Dank and Sensi Seeds.
