RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA IN OHIO

Although possession of small amounts of marijuana for personal use is partly decriminalized, the cultivation, sale, and possession of cannabis for recreational purposes are illegal in Ohio.

Getting caught with up to 100 grams (3,5 oz) of cannabis is treated as a minor misdemeanor and will get you only a fine of up to $150.

Getting caught with between 100-200 grams is still a misdemeanor, but might land you in jail for up to 30 days and get you a fine of up to $250.

More than 200 grams is considered a felony and penalties start of with up to a year in jail and fines starting from $2,500.

Other than the medical marijuana plan that is supposed to be up and running in 2018, we are not aware of any possible law changes in the (near) future in Ohio regarding medical and/or recreational cannabis.
