Hash can be made in many different ways, and dry-sifting is one of the easiest and most popular methods. All you need to make hash this way is a very fine sieve (a silkscreen works best) and lots of weed. Hash produced under this technique is also referred to as "kief."

Dry-sifting cannabis is actually an ancient hash-making technique that originates from Morocco. It is still very popular today as it results in a high-quality product, appreciated for its potency and ability to easily melt and vaporize.

By rubbing the weed across the screen, the trichomes are separated from the rest of the plant matter, with only the smallest particles making it through the mesh. It will take a bit of time to do this with larger amounts of plant material, but after collecting the kief, you will realize it was absolutely worth your effort.
